Parivahan Sewa Portal is an online platform launched by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways for all the transport-related services in India. This unified digital interface offers several vehicle- and driving-related services in one place, reducing the need to visit an RTO. These services include applying for a driving license and registration certificate, checking vehicle and owner details, applying for an HSRP number plate, and paying a traffic challan.

The Parivahan portal operates under the VAHAN 4.0 framework for vehicle-related services, and Sarathi Parivahan for the driving-license-related services.
These two systems form the backbone of India's modernised digital transport system. You can access these services through the Parivahan website and the mParivahan mobile app.
To access the services available at Parivahan, you must first register yourself as a user.
To register for Parivahan online, follow the steps below.
Open parivahan.gov.in and click the 'Online Services' section at the top.
Depending on the service that you need, click 'Driving License Related Services' or 'Vehicle Related Services'.
Click on 'Register as a new user' and enter your mobile number and email ID.
Verify your identity using the OTP sent to your mobile phone.

To access the Parivahan vehicle-related services, you need to visit the Parivahan Sewa portal and click on vehicle-related services under the online tab. Through this portal, you can find the nearest RTO, check your RC status, check vehicle and owner details, and pay the road tax for your vehicle. Vehicle registration
You can easily apply for vehicle registration, the renewal of the registration certificate (RC), and the issuance of a duplicate RC through Parivahan.
Ownership transfer
If you want to transfer the ownership of your RC, through succession, or during the selling/buying of the vehicles, it can be done easily through Parivahan
Hypothecation addition and termination
When you buy a vehicle on loan, while you own and use the vehicle, the bank has the right to take the vehicle until the loan is fully paid off. This is called hypothecation. Once the loan is fully paid off and you have received an NOC from the lender, you can simply remove the hypothecation status by uploading the NOC on Parivahan.Read more

You can check and apply for the availability of a fancy number plate, such as '0001', '1111', etc., on the Parivahan portal.
Fitness certificate
A valid fitness certificate certifies that your vehicle meets the required safety and environmental regulations and can be safely driven on roads. To obtain the certificate, brakes, horns, lights, pollution certificate, steering, tyres, wipers, and speedometers are examined. The Parivahan Sewa Portal also offers an online permit management system for commercial vehicles. A permit is a document issued by a State or Regional Transport Authority. It allows the use of a motor vehicle as a commercial vehicle under the Motor Vehicle Act. Here are some common types of permits issued by Parivahan.
Goods-carrier Permit: It permits vehicles such as trucks and tempos to transport goods within a state.

To apply for a permit online through Parivahan, follow the steps below.
Open parivahan.gov.in and click 'Permit Related Services' under the online tab.
Choose your state and enter the vehicle registration number and the last five digits of the chassis number.
Choose the permit type that you need and upload the required documents.
Choose an online payment method to make the Parivahan permit online payment.
Once issued, you can also download the permit by clicking the online permit download link.
You can check your challan details online through the Parivahan portal and the Next Gen m Parivahan mobile application. Enter your vehicle registration number to view challan details and pay the challan through an online payment method.
Open the Mparivahan app on your mobile phone and tap 'pay vehicle tax' to pay road tax. Enter your vehicle registration number and choose an online payment method to pay the vehicle tax.
Visit the Parivahan Sewa website and click vehicle-related services under the online tab. Choose your state and enter the vehicle registration number & RTO to proceed. Click 'Know your application status' at the top and enter your application number to check the RC status.
Click 'vehicle-related services' on the Parivahan website. Choose your state, enter the registration number, and tap the RC download option to download the RC.
You need to download and install the Mparivahan app from the Play Store or the App Store to access the documents. Log in/register using your mobile number and other details to access the vehicle-related documents.
To check vehicle details on the Vahan report portal, click Vehicle-related Services, then choose your state. Enter the vehicle registration number and the RTO office to check the vehicle-related details.
