Documents Required for the Transfer of Ownership of a Vehicle
You'll need to submit the following documents to the concerned RTO in case of ownership transfer of a private vehicle:

- Self-attested copy of a valid Pollution Under Control Certificate
- Form no. 29 duly filled in duplicate (attested one copy)
- Self-attested copy of the address proof of the purchaser and a valid insurance certificate
- Form no.30 duly filled in duplicate
- Attested copy of PAN Card or Form 60 & 61(as applicable).
- A prescribed fee, along with a penalty if the transfer of ownership is not applied within 14 days from the date of purchase.
Note: You need to submit the application for transfer of ownership within 14 days of purchase. Otherwise, you will have to pay a penalty of Rs. 500.
