To verify the vehicle registration status, insurance companies check the RTO records for the registered owner's name, the vehicle's registration location, and the jurisdictional RTO details. As per the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, all vehicles must have third-party insurance. Your location when registering the vehicle affects motor insurance premiums. In larger cities, the premium for cars and two-wheelers is higher because the risk of accidents is greater, while in smaller towns, premiums are usually lower.
